This Toro Edger assembly is a breeze. Took less than 5 minutes to assemble 3 basic screws. 2 to fully assemble the handle and 1 to assemble and lock in the adjustable handle. The actual edging is a breeze as well, especially with the "sidewalk edge guide" which extends down and allows you to get a nice even edge/line. You can also adjust the depth of the edge and not having done this before, I realized you should use the shallowest setting first before going to a deeper setting ( if required).

Another great Toro product! My Toro mower is going strong at 25 years old, so I'm a Toro fan! This is another great addition to their product lineup. I got it to replace a corded electric edger that finally conked out. I often found myself hesitant to use the old corded one just because it was such a hassle, with a 100 foot extension cord and all, and I often didn't bother to edge at all. I'll have no excuse with this one, though! It assembled in minutes, the instructions are clear and well-written, and Toro stands behind their products. It's surprisingly powerful for a cordless edger, and I'm actually looking forward to using it ...once the 10 inches of snow melt!

“This is my third Toro battery powered lawn/garden tool and I have been quite pleased with all of ...”
This is my third Toro battery powered lawn/garden tool and I have been quite pleased with all of them. I haven't had the opportunity to do any actual edging with it yet as we are under about 30 inches of snow right now. But spring is right around the corner - or at least I hope so. I have done a ton of landscaping over the past couple of years and I really wanted something to crispen up the edges of the beds. We also paved about 600 ft of driveway last year and the last thing I want if for grass or weeds to even think about eating away the edges of my driveway. One of the notable improvements with this tool vs the previous tools is with the battery charger. The battery chargers that came with the previous tools were quite large whereas this one is a fraction of that size. In fact the charger slips into the back of the battery itself. Very convenient. Assembling the lawn edger was simple. You loosen a couple of Allen screws and slide the two sections together. The handle is attached by removing 4 Allen screws from the handle, placing the handle on the shaft and replacing the screws. Using a drill/driver with an appropriate sized long Allen bit made this go a lot easier that using the Allen key provided. I think I might like to see some sort of camming lever on the handle to make it more easily adjustable on the fly. The edger is on the heavy side but I think that weight will come in handy when it comes to edging. Better to let the tool do the work rather than having to force the edger downwards to deepen the edge. The depth of cut is adjustable by simply loosening a single wing nut, adjusting the depth and re-tightening the wing nut. In use the tools rests on a fairly beefy wheel and skid plate - both of which are replaceable. The edger blade is a piece of 8" no nonsense steel powered by a brushless motor in an aluminum housing that would seem to be able to take what ever you throw at it. They even throw in a tool that looks like a chainsaw wrench for replacing the skid plate and blade. I did not measure battery life but my experience with my other Toro products lead me to believe this will not be an issue. And as I expand my collection of Toro tools I will have spare batteries. Its nice to have some really powerful battery operated tools just to get away from all the noise and vibration of the gas powered versions. Plus battery tools are simple enough to operate that I am not the only one up to the task (hint hint). So i will be waiting (im)patiently for spring and in the meantime put the Toro Electric snow blower to good use around all those areas I can't get to with the plow.

This is exactly the yard tool I've been looking for and I'm thrilled that the good people at TORO created one of these! I've been getting away from gasoline for my yard duties. I grew weary of coaxing gas engines to come to life before every use. First I converted to electric tools with cords, but as the batteries have gotten better and better, more and more I've found tools that are strong enough and have a long enough battery life to make them better choices. The final prize for my collection is this battery operated edger, and let me assure you, it has plenty of power! The folks at TORO can be proud. Like any new tool, it takes some practice to get the hang of how it works, but once you get comfortable with it, the edger works great! It has plenty of power to spin the blade (a real METAL edger blade, by the way). It can be adjusted for height with only a wing nut. It leaves a nice, straight, well cut edge. It can be assembled in just a few minutes, so no worries there. It's another great TORO tool!

For those who like a manicured lawn this would be a nice addition to trim grass between the yard and the driveway. Creates a nice fine edge that looks completely manicured for your lawn. This lawn edger is battery powered so you do not have to drag a electrical cord behind you. Has a high-powered brushless DC motor, cast aluminum motor housing with high carbon steel blade. The trigger is variable speed which is nice causing it starts slow and ends up high speed. Guide wheel is adjustable for precision edging and cutting depth. It has a blade blocker to keep debris from blowing back on you with a comfort grip handle which is adjustable for ultimate control. Has a quick release to eject the battery also comes with battery charger. This lawn edger will require some assembly and the tools to do so are provided. The battery is a 60 volt lithium ion with about two AMP hour run time.

So first let me say my husband is over the moon for this edger! He is a landscaper by trade and of course has to tend to our lawn needs so he is super thrilled to have this. Honestly I am pretty stoked about it. Toro has an excellent reputation and this edger lives up to that name. The ease of use is well easy! It barely huma as far as sound is concerned! But it does has power! It does exactly what it's supposed to do and it does it perfectly! I love that its quiet so neither the neighbors nor I get woke up if he decides to use it early. . Very satisfied!

I've been hesitant to own battery powered yard tools but I am sure glad I made the switch. No more mixing oil and gas. These Toro brushless DC motors are strong and powerful which means longer life, longer run time and run smoother. This Toro edger is great. The materials are good and the motor housing is cast aluminum. The edger frame and debris guard are good as well. The cutting depth is easily adjusted with 1 screw. The battery pack is large and charges quickly. Run time is no issue. The edger is well built and balanced. Assembly time out of the box was minutes.

“This is a powerful edger. Can't go wrong with Toro...”
This is a powerful edger. Can't go wrong with Toro and this really lives up to the name. The battery charges quickly and hold a charge for edging the front and back yard a couple of times over. It runs about as smooth as a gas counterpart. I really like that. The only drawback I have on this is that I am tall, and at over 6' feet, the pole is too short. I feel like I have to hunch over to edge the grass. The wheel is at its fullest adjustment for height and it is still too short. I don't know if the specs can be changed in future models, but either give more in the wheel plate for tall people or just make the pole about six inches longer. The blade is 8 inches in diameter, with 4" radius. I am hoping that as it gets dulled down with use, I can start standing upright. Other than that, what a nice cut. I took down the front and back yard in just a couple of minutes with ease and with full power throughout. Gave a perfect cut too. The blade can be swapped out in time. It can be removed a lot like a gas edger would. Per the directions, the battery can be used with other Toro products. To charge it uses a standard 120V outlet (I have mine through a surge protector). Keep the battery out of the edger while not in use. I have it in the charger, but I only power it up when it needs charging -- not continuously charged. This is my only Toro battery product. It is compact in size, as compared with other batteries. Assembly was a breeze. It comes with a three year warranty.
